Happy Birthday to Auntie Heather's Niece!

Yesterday we celebrated my niece's birthday (her actual birthday was Friday)! Why is this notable news?!!!  Well, if it wasn't for her, there would be no "Auntie Heather"!  She is my only niece and started calling me "Auntie Heather" when she was very young. Who knew then it would have such meaning today?!!!   She  is near and dear to my heart and I just want to give her a very special Auntie Heather birthday wish.  Happy Birthday Baby Girl!  :)

Pulled Pork Sandwich Recipe added!

We just added our Pulled Pork Sandwich Recipe to our website!  We did 63lbs of Pork for sandwiches for the EGGfest and it was a huge success!  I actually had a gentleman tell me it was the best pulled pork he ever ate! Another lady professing "no one does pulled pork like the south" stated our sandwiches were so good ...she'd actually come back for another!  Try it and see how your family likes it!

Labor Day BBQ!

I just love when we get three day weekends!  This Labor Day we will be BBQing up a storm!  We are doing a bit more healthly this time and cookin' smoked chicken.  Of course, we do have our honey-do lists also.  The never ending garage cleaning, yard sprucing, and sprinkler fixing!  LOL  I think a day of hard work always make the BBQ taste better!   Best wishes to you and yours this Labor Day!

What is an

EGGfest?

An Eggfest is a venue for Big Green Egg enthusiasts to showcase their talents on the Big Green Egg barbecue .  It is also an opportunity for those who have been  contemplating a Big Green Egg to sample the foods and talk to other egg enthusiasts.  In other words the Eggfest is a good excuse to get a bunch of people together and make some great food.  Cooks come from all over to showcase their talents and the attendees get the pleasure of being the audience.  You may be wondering if you need to own a Big Green Egg to be a cook, and the answer is no. There are demo Eggs available for people who wish to take an Egg for a test run.  You never know, you may begin to turn into an Egg Head yourself!  If you do, don’t worry, there will be Demo Eggs available for purchase at discounted rates.

Outdoor Kitchen Creations is excited to be hosting the second annual Southern California Eggfest and hope you will make the trip to come out and enjoy a beautiful California weekend.  Along with the Eggfest, there are many local attractions that will fill up your weekend.  Beaches and mountains are nearby, and Disneyland is about 35 minutes from the EGGfest.  Another great area within a few miles is downtown Claremont.  You can make a great vacation out of this EGGfest weekend if you'd like to!  We hope to see you there!

Father's Day is June 20th!

  Father's Day at Auntie Heather's House was always fun......for Dad!  I can remember as a kid dreading Father's Day!  Why?  Because my dad turned it into "slave day!"  We had to wait on him hand and foot!  He would sit in his favorite chair and beckon his every want and desire.  I remember thanking God it was only once a year!  Now as an adult, I just look back those days and laugh and realize how blessed I am to have a father who was always there for me.  Through the endless softball games, the school performances, the dating years (which I think aged him considerably!), even when he walked me down the isle for my wedding, he was always there for me!  Now I am there for my dad...as his BBQ mentor and coach!  Thank you, Dad, for being there for me and just being the wonderful man you are!  You can bet Auntie Heather will be doing a very special BBQ for her dad!

Dump Cake added to recipes!

Ahhbbq.com just added one of my family's favorite desserts to the recipe section of our website.  It is the "Dump Cake!"  I remember when I was younger I thought what a horrible name LOL!  When I realized you literally "dump" all the ingredients in one pan and bake it, it made sense!  There are so many combinations you can use for this cake.  You can choose flavors that compliment the holidays or just pick your favorite!  It's great for potlucks, luncheons, church picnics, etc.  Combine with ice cream and you will join my husband in his "happy place"!  It is so easy and delicious, you won't have to wait too long before the compliments are received!   Let us know in the feedback section how your family enjoyed it!
